▶ Video Transcript:I started a company when I was fifteen. Went from basically being homeless, sleeping on the beach, to creating a company that that generated over a billion dollars in revenue. This is pre internet, pre Amazon, PRI, all those things. And it was basically back in the day in the electronic music scene when the rave scene was big.
▶ About Shaahin:o we were immigrants. I came to the United States from Iran during the revolution. And we landed, and very quickly realized how in Iran, we were middle class, solid middle class in the United States, we were poor. And my dad had to work odd jobs, pizza places, worked at a dry cleaners were ended up working for most of 40 years almost, and just trying to make ends meet. And I realized that at a young age, looking around me, man, there's wealth everywhere. There's the guy driving down Pacific Coast Highway, top down in his Ferrari with a beautiful blonde sitting next to him, I want to be that guy. I want those things. I want the big house, I want the fancy cars, I wanted all that wealth and success. But there was no path to it for me.

▶ Video Transcript: I think what happened was that they came out at a very high valuation. So they were going to go public at a valuation of some insane thing like 47 billion, some ridiculous number that I think our brains can't even calculate. And then Softbank came in, some issues happened. And finally, I think the CEO left, apparently I'm not finished watching the whole series. And they did go public, but at a much lower valuation, something like eight or 9 billion from what I understand. But it's it's a fascinating story.

They live a life of silent desperation. 99% of people just kind of walk through life doing what they've been told, doing what they think eventually they meet a girl or dude, and they get married, and they have kids, and they go to work. And they wake up one day, and they're fucking fat. The kids are fat, the wife is fat. They hate their fucking job. And they look around and they go, what the fuck am I doing here? What have I done? Will it ever change? And then they go back to doing whatever they're doing. If they're that self realized, they might go, Fuck, man, what have I done? And they don't stop to say what it's all for.

And every single person told me Hey, you know, I really just want to hear you read it. So I ended up reading the book, I think it's a fun ride.
